Disadvantages of mobile homes

Mobile homes are well known for camping and vacationing due to their nature. They are quite affordable and those placed in the parks give a good view with a peaceful serene for relaxation. Despite the advantages mobile homes have a share of their disadvantages. The greatest disadvantage that mobile homes face is the stereotype associated with them. This is because they are cheap and those living in mobile homes are seen to be poor.

Mobile homes have a very poor potential of appreciating in value. It is harder to sell mobile homes as compared to selling the traditional houses. Even if one wants mobile homes for vacationing it is better to buy the traditional houses. In case the mobile homes are situated in a park, the park owner may decide to sell their park with very little notice to the people living there. This makes it hard for people to get a new place to quickly settle. This is because lands where mobile homes are located are just on rent and what a person owns is the home. Mobile homes are tricky in transportation, especially the very old mobile homes which makes it expensive to use other transportation means which are not the regular means.

There is no investment value in owning mobile homes; they never appreciate in value making it not wise to own it even if it is for vacationing. People living in Mobile homes parks also face stigma as it is seen as a place for the poor and people who cannot afford the traditional built houses. Finally there is population and age consideration and restrictions in mobile homes situated in parks. This makes it hard for anybody to move in; this can act as a challenge to a family that wants to go vacationing with the extended family.

More so pets are controlled and the space in the mobile homes is relatively small it cannot accommodate a large family on a vacation or a large group out for camping. All necessary factors including the advantages and disadvantages should be considered before making a decision to buy mobile homes.
